player_connect_sound

This plugin will play a small wav every time a player joins the server

Things i wanna add a leave sound and also a cvar to be able to turn the plugin off at will

Also add a part so that clan leaders or admins have a different wav to public players*

The sound file goes in sound/misc

Just a note i have tested this and it did work for dod but it isnt fully dod specific as it think it works on cs 2 im waiting to find out from my clan leader :p if it work i will remove it if you guys think i should :p

Well, your stuff is structured properly, and variables named correctly, and code looks clean. So cheers on that. (You should use [32] instead of [33] for strings though, but not a big deal)

My main question here is what's going on with the text message that you're sending? From the looks of it, we're getting a double message here: the regular "so and so has joined the game" and your new "so and so (steamid) connected"

I understand if you want to do what the STEAMIDMSG plugin does inside your plugin, but you should note that in the description of the plugin. And sending an additional message is not only less efficient, but like I said above...it seems like there are going to be two connect messages displayed.

What I would reccomend is to take a look at my dod_steamidmsg plugin posted on these forums and watch how I hook the original join message and add the steamid to it - I do not send any messages; simply alter the one already being sent.

You are improving quite a bit. Do not take this as a bash; I'm trying to help and encourage you to work out the kinks. (Although I don't really understand what a steamid message has to do with a player connect sound..seems like 2 different plugins :P)

Lol thanks wilson well im running this on my server and my leader is running it on his cs server and it only shows one client message it was just a little plugin to do when i was board but thanks for looking over the code and pointing out my mistakes i will go now and take a look at the steam id plugin of yours

Sorry to intrude ont his plugin but sure you have to make your own code, as this is to codes from to plugins placed together to make a new plugin. sound playing is from the dod_connection plugin where u can get differnt wavs for admins and players and the steam id message from dod_steamidmsg.

no it isn't im sure Wilson will vouch for that if you read the above posts he actually tells me to look at his plugins for and error if i was going to steal code there would be no pint in me having to post and make thousands of threads on here to learn how to make plugins

Yeah i knows there is one now lool i did post my version on there too but they said its already been done lol so my mistake

P.S. This was a plugin from when i was learning how to code :p and tbh it isnt actually dod specific
