View Full Version : Possible to make a new parachute mod?

Is it possible to make a parachute mod that would most likely be once u use it u either have to detatch it or u have to hold it back up, which when you fold it up it would take about 15 sec or so b4 u can move again,

Sounds like a good idea at first, but i dont think many would use is if it took 15 sec to pack it up again after use.. 15 sec is very long time ingame, overall i dont think it would fun ingame...

yep game goes to fast to take 15 seconds to remove somthing. hell take it from me 325th 82nd Airborne it doesnt take 15 seconds in real life.

Okay well, im saying to detach it would be right away but as soon as u click the button, but if u want to fold it back up make it take some time, so its not right away and u can move because thats totaly un real like, u dont just get anthor one right away make it so u can detach it or fold it back up, and make it if u fold it back up it takes sometime

we are talking about fold it back up, in real world once you land the shute is part of the land you dont fold anything back up. i jumped in panama in 1989 with the 82nd hell for all i know my shute is still part of fort howards grass still to this day. i think what you want is not to be able to jump with every spawn, maybe once a map i wouldnt want that myself every spawn life is like well a new life

Yes make the parachute mod more realistic. As in what DWP said, you can only use it once on the map, or maybe once every 5 deaths? I think that would make it more acceptable and realistic.

I have a parachute mod that we've been using on our server for a long time. I think its a lot more realistic than some of the others I've seen. I've just never released it because there's already several parachute mods out there. If you're interested, let me know.

Some features are...
1) When you use it, it animates the deploy sequence, stays deployed until you hit the ground, then animates the detach sequence. No more deploying, repacking, redeploying etc. etc. all in the same jump.
2) You must be 'catching air' for it to deploy. In other words, if you use it and you're not falling, it malfunctions. Other mods can deploy in water or on ladders or just when jumping.
3) Detects water and ladders as ground. Others mods let you run around in the water or on ladders with a deployed chute.
4) Requires the use of a bind to the word 'ripcord' to use. This eliminates the interaction when trying to pick up a primed nade.
5) Its default configuration gives you one chute per life. But it can be set up to give you unlimited chutes.

oh damn my bad.. now it should work lol.. i changed it for the wrong usergroup :P
