I have VHE 3.4 and am using it on Windows Vista. The problem I am having with textures is the ability to select a single face. I don't know if it's the .fgd file that's the root of my problem, or if it's the fact that it's running under Vista. Maybe it's something else.
The maps I am working on are for Day of Defeat (non source). When I select a texture for a brush it's applied to all six sides. I cannot select a single face to change for example, the interior of a wall/room.
When I downloaded and installed VHE, it had "halflife-DOD2-expert.fgd" alread in the fgd directory. I changed it to "dod.fgd" which I found on filefront (but I don't know if that was an older one or the most current. Later I found a link for and downloaded "dod_v131_haircut.fgd" and again a little later I found another "dod.fgd". None of these have helped me.
One of the problems I had as well is the fact that my version of Vista is X86. I installed it under the "Program Files" directory and everytime I run it, Vista asks me if it's okay to run the program. I authorize it, but I don't know if Vista is maybe restricting it somehow. I was unable to install it into the Program Files (X86) directory because the installation program would not permit the use of "(" or ")".
Can someone help me out with this?
