Psychostats install

Which is easiest to set to run psychostats on Xampp or Wamp
also I cant find anything on how to set up the sql database for stats and yes I have read the install insttructions on psychostats.com could anyone point me in the right direction on how to set this up.

Personally Ive never used Xampp but WAMP is a walk in the park. Even if you have no idea how webservers work, WAMP will do it all for you.

It's been a long time since i installed psychostats but isnt it just create a database, create a user with full rights and link them to each other and the automated installation does the rest?

The only thing you might want to look into, I could find everything on the installation document of Psychostats except for this:

I am hosting my dod game server from my home server. (Windows)

Then instead of using cronjobs you can use Task Manager for windows, thats what we are using for our clan on our dedicated server

Everything installed easily just need to know where to get log files from dod server thru the ftp.

if you ftp to your server, go to dod folder then logs
copy the link from your ftp it will probably be similar to this

/89.238.160.6/dod/logs (thats your log path)
your host would be the server ip 89.238.160.6

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to install psychostats on iis I would like to run it on same machine as game server. ( Windows Home Server) is what I am using. I have already been to psychostats.com and looked around and couldnt find anything maybe I just missed it.

So let me get this straight...you installed Psychostats and all of a sudden you realised its better to place it on your game server machine? LOL...

But this is as far as I can help you, IIS Ive never used...I normally just turn off the services and install WAMP

Using IIS on Windows has a few quirks that cause a lot of problems for PsychoStats working properly on some systems (mainly user permissions that are confusing). .

If someone would like to contribute detailed instructions on properly setting up IIS, please feel free to fill out this documentation with the steps required. But please keep the formatting in sync with the rest of the document.

Why not just run apache,php,mysql ? wampserver and xampp are just front ends to make installing and running the 3 parts easy.

I have never installed pstats on IIS but if I was going to try it then I would set it up on my pc as a test first and try to iron out any bugs before messing about with my gamesever.

As Tank says I can't help with this.

The problem is if I disable IIS I wont be able to acess the server outside the network. It has its own webpage already preinstalled on it, tough decision Wamp or IIS? I'll work on trying to get it set up on IIS if it doesnt work I will go back to wamp.

I think you can find something better for the same money, like no DL limit. Just remember to check that you get access to cron jobs.

But well overall i think no one is really a 100% satisfied, unless its somekinda business pack you buy, but thats another price range... So, just pick one, and hope for the best i guess ;)

Just spoke online with a rep at bluehost.com he asked what psychostats needed to run i told him php perl mysql he said they could host with no problem.

Yea, but rememeber cron jobs, you need access for those... or atleast one..

going to try and configure apache in wamp and host at home I dont want anything but a stats web page nothing fancy. IIS has too much permission issues with it not worth the effort to set it up.(may have to start using ubuntu again alot easier to work with).got to find a spare machine to put it on
