Compile question and plugins (1.7 to 1.81 )

Here is a question ,it may have been asked before , but when I do a search , i get 50 posts and honestly don't feel like reading through them all for key words and not my answer or question.

so here goes.

When you first get your server ,like I did , it was say...amxmodx version 1.70 or something or another....I load plugins...I compile them for that version.

later i update to another version of amxx and then later another version.

should all the plugins be recompiled for those updates...like now I`m on 1.813746...should all my old plugins that were compiled and running under 1.7 be recompiled for this version ???

or does it make any differace at all ?

well quite often they should still work.. but i usually recompile them all to avoid any problems. Ive also noticed that the *.amxx file size usually changes depending what version you compile it under, so theres obviously something different between the different versions
