hlsw problem..

well my server seems (starting around 5am apparently) timing out in HLSW for me...

my website/psychostats can see it just fine, i can see it in the steam server browser, and i can connect to it in steam... Other ppl can see it in hlsw.. but i cant... just times out, i can also see other servers in hlsw just fine, just cant see my own

ive tried rebooting my pc and rebooting my modem.. nothing seems to help..


any ideas at all?

I had a similar problem with mine wanting to update so I downloaded the update had to restart server several times to get it to not show server needs to be updated or it will not be shown on master list It did not show on master list at all until I restatrted it several times. Don't know if youre having the same problem as I did. maybe this will help.

ya that bad master server or whatever it is (that keeps telling servers they are outta date) has been a pain.. but over the past few days even when ive got that message i could still see it in HLSW..

i guess when i get home from work ill try it on my XP partition and if that doesnt help ill try to reinstall hlsw, otherwise ill try and get more help lol

well same deal when booting to XP.. reinstalling and updating to the 1.3.3.0 beta didnt help either...

so i tried a different modem with a different IP and it worked fine.. switched back to my modem, stopped working... so it would appear to me that something is blocking my IP from whatever port hlsw uses to query the server... (not blocked all together cause i can still play)

ok lol.. after struggling with this.. and after the host tech seemed a bit confused on it as well.. i noticed the port setting in the hlsw options.. default is like 7130 or something, that ive never changed before (that i recall)... but i changed that to a diff number, restarted hlsw.. all works now..


so i assume my IP is blocked on 7130 by the gameserver or something.. idk.. but idc, it works now :D
