if you find any bugs please let Livewire know via my website, here or fpsbanana
and I'm sure that he will update it.
I will share waypoints as soon as I have done them. approx 50% done now
These will certainly not be great waypoints as I am doing them in a rush so that peeps with bots can have something workable running.

due to a borked windows I am now behind a little :(
I have not lost the waypoints created so far. I just need to get my new hard disk up and running with windows 7 dod, shrikebot and my waypoint cfg etc. Should be running and waypointing again tomorrow. I hope to have the waypoints sorted before the weekend.

I played this map on my server today and I must say I like it very much. I'm so tired of the old avalanche, IMO it's a lot better. One question though? If I were to give you a custom dod_avalanche wad file, would your friend be willing to update his map and re-compile it for me, saving it as another version? Simply specifying it in the ent file will not work.

Good Job on the map.

Agreed, would like to run this as the default Avalanche.

Any news on those waypoints Noddy?

Thanks in advance.

re the wad file, I will speak to Livewire asap and ask him.
The waypoints, I did some in a hurry and they were shite tbh
I decided to re do them. I will create some to get the bots out of spawn and make them available asap. I will then tweak them so that they are better and do a re release.

these are a beta version :) they probably need a lot of work testing etc but I hope that they get you all going for now

http://www.fps-uk.net/downloads/waypoints/ava-b1.zip

This is a direct link so no need to sign up to my webby to get them. They are for shrikebot not sturmbot so if you need sturmbot waypoints you will have to request them or learn how to waypoint :)

re the wad update, here's what Livewire said

sounds ok as long as they know which texture needs swaping with what

he also said that if you are quick he has next week off work :)

Hey noddy sorry to get back to you soo late, I forgot I posted this request. I have a custom avalanche wad that replaces all the textures with new ones. Instead of the cobble stones, it has grass and so forth. I bet it would look really nice, anyway I'm going to go through my external hard drive/dod archives and try to relocate this wad file. I will pm you with the wad file as soon as I find it.

Thanks.

or if he will allow me to do it

I have just compiled ava-b2_urban I will check tomorrow night and if all looks ok
I will upload to the maps section. No wad file required as I have included the textures in the bsp.
A big thanks to Livewire for giving me permission to do this.

update

When testing we noticed that the textures bleed through from the original wad file due to textures having the same name. This is a problem that exists in the versions that you guys run now. The only way that I know of fixing this is to rename the textures then re-apply them to the map. Then use a new wad or include them in the actual bsp.
Believe me this is a real ball ache, I think that I'm about 80% through completing the urban version.
I hope to have this completed soon (next couple of days)

edit :)

Finished "urban textures" just waiting for Livewire to test then if OK we will share :)

here is the aztec version, a lot smaller file due to the repeating textures I was able to remove a load of the duplications.
