View Full Version : New Sub Forum to Be Developed
Ok I had this stunning Idea, I am going to create a sub forum that will house all DoD Resources the community can accumulate in one spot. A very big task, however my new idea is to have ppl who are regulars here and devoted to the place be the ones who administer it and gather resources. Basically police the area that users upload things to and move them into proper slots.
Having said this, I am calling for two things:
1) Volunteers to Admin area
2) What the spread out should look like
At the moment here is the idea:
DoD Resources
-->Maps
-->BSPs
-->Wads
-->Bots
-->Sturm Bot
-->Installs
-->Waypoints
-->CPP
-->Shrike Bot
-->Installs
-->Waypoints
-->CPP
-->Other Bot
-->Installs
-->Waypoints
-->CPP
-->??????
So as you can see the resources will be the top forum, then sub forums will contain individual things.
Ok lets hear some feedback and what ppl think needs be done. Thanks goes out to noddy for the idea!
Cheers!
Meathead and Noddy are the bot n' map specialists around here i belive (: ...

I should be able to do most of this, pm me Zor.
Ok guys I have created the forums with the needed permissions, I have added a new User Group for the Resource guys. The developers and admins still have access to the area to upload but you have limited upload. As for Meathead and Noddy you have a fairly large upload capacity. However the rules still apply for extentions. So if you have and EXE make sure its scanned really good and then zip / rar it up for upload.
Alright guys open for business on this. I have alot of apps on my other puter...once I am in my new place I will more able to help out. But for now I am handicaped!
Cheers!

Hey do you guys need help with this? I've spent the past year completely remodelling and reskinning dod, and I'm roughly 70% done with everything. If you are interested in my work, hit me up on msn (zobris@gmail.com) or xfire(pvtyoung502). My work is quality(3 years experience now), but it's targetted for people with decent computers. Everything is higher poly and all the textures are 512x512 or equivilant in different dimensions. I have the weapons 100% redone for every class. So that's view, world, and player for axis, allies, and brits. Would love to help you guys out.
As a who am I, I am currently the 2d artist or Darkest Hour and 2d/3d lead for Ricochet: Source.

yep get your finger out m8 ;)
I have some rmf files that I think we should upload too (haircut's releases)
These might help people get an understanding of what a map looks like before it's compiled.

Question, do you guys want screen previews of the weapon models for the pack when I hand it over to meathead? I can take the screenshots, just tell me what size I should make them for the forums.
I also have some WAD packages I made using Sierra's original WAD3 creator. Unlike Wally, this program supports transparency, animation, mipmap control, and so on(program is 12 years old, but was used for QUAKE and other games that supported WAD3 file type). I have an avalanche, donner, and saints package all complete. I could also gives you guys the tool for the WADs and a little tutorial to understand it.
I'd really like to contribute as much as possible to this forum. I have all the sprites redone for the game, a lot of sounds(not done yet), models are getting there, got a couple of WADs half completed, new VGUI, and map specific configs to control fog and FX. If anybody is skilled in sound creation, map textures, or model textures, please contact me. Redoing every file in this game is a huge task for 1 man. The game has died down a bit, but would be nice to make it enjoyable for everyone still playing.

This sounds great, and we do have a tutorial section where that would fit in.
I'm gonna say, for myself, if there just a zip file with the weapons to look at I'm good. Idk the size limit for pics in the forums?
