okay I no I have done this before but it has been a while since i last did it and was wondering if anybody can help me in putting up a custom motd screen on my server, do i put it in the ftp and if so where ?? I'm lost here, hey meathead or diamond any suggestions ?? also i want to install an entry song on my server so when people log in they can listen to some tunes does that go in the ftp also and which plug in should i use for it ?? do I have to embed the song to the place that im installing the plug in at ??

if you have a website you are best using a custom motd html file hosted on webby
and use something like this for your motd.txt file in your dod folder on server

thanks noddy it was helpful cheers now i just have to work on a couple of maps now thats crashes my server outdated maps lol canals and library

Frames are evil!

I use:

I agree but I doubt that using frames in this instance will cause a problem to anyone.

when using frames the scrolling does not work smoothly and doesn't work the mouse wheel. When using my method, the actual motd window handles the scroll bar.

ty Fysiks, i like that method better.. Tho i do like being able to use colored scroll bars with the frame but doesnt do any good if you cant really scroll too well with it lol

I prefer his method but I don't like scrolling bars for motd :)

I want it so that it just fits ;)

ok now that everything is set my music is edited down to half or a quarter of the song my motd is set just want to say cheers and thanks to everybody drop in some time , the server is {RSR} on dod i dont no if i can put the server ip up or not but craig has dropped in before i did some final tweaking but now that its done dont be a strasnger everybody , by the way , diamond i was on ava mod and was checking out your shotgun sweet bud is the final version done and where can i get it to install ?? cheers everybody
