wad file not opening

i got a copuple of maps where the wad file wont open is it the res file that has to be updated or is it something else that i have to do ?? anybody diamond

If the wad is not downloaded when joining the server, you have to put the wad into the res file of the map to enforce the download.

How large is the wad file?
Some wad files are not wad files but empty cause the map don't actually use any of the textures from them.
Have u tried to open the file with wally? The file might be corrupt. If you have lots of maps try renaming the WAD file and downloading from another active server playing that map and copy that new file to your server.

Does you client crash with the error cant open wad blah blah blah or the server?

Have you run resgen over your map directory to generate new .res files?

or is it that the file won't dl from the server as the above people ask?

thanks guys i finally figured it out i had to create a new res file for all the maps that wouldnt open
