My clan has a couple of chicks in it and a few regular's that are chicks. I have been requested by those ladies to figure out a way to assign the girl model to the girl players.
I have some CS models of girls wearing camo and such and was wondering if there was a way to assign a steam ID with that model and allow everyone to see that person as a girl. I have seen on CS servers, where the admin have ADMIN on there backs, but never in DoD. but I assume it cant be much differant for something like the chicken mod or evil glow?
If this is availible on that other website, sorry I wont go there for help anymore.

i dont see why it couldnt be done.. ive got a girl thats been asking me for the same thing lol
but the models would have to be decompiled and then recompiled with the dod animations.. and im not sure if cs models have the same bone structure as dod models.. but its probably close enough that they would still work

Yes all the models in all the mods use the same HL bone structure, or "skeleton", the difference is in the animations for each model, and while CS models will work for the most part, DOD has some very specific animations not found in any of the other mods, so while NON-DOD player models still make good NPC models, they DO need to be recompiled with dod-specific animations...
give me a minute.. I HAVE an Axis model where one of the players IS female... and I used to laugh when firends would pick that specific class, then talk, and see a mans voice coem from a female model... but for any model... use a model viewer, extract the bmp texture used to "skin" the model and add a females face...

Well, in all honesty, if you take the axis model, extract the graphic textures, "recolor" them a bit, add a new face, you can "reuse" the axis model, just rename it allies...
I will play around with them a bit, or take one of my custom allied models and add a distinguisable female face to it...
but I like diamond's suggestion best, take a CS hostage model and reanimate it.. lmao...
I used to hack certain maps and add in a funk_tank, and used one of those sexy models for spawn protection... she would twiddle her private parts, and fire mg rounds from her b**bies !!

Interesting read that link, but my impression is that this "technology" is far from complete, and was designed way before all the recent updates to AMXX.
It is also NOT for the faint of heart, as it requires some patience to figure out wtf someone has to do to make it work... but I am going to give it a go and see what I can come up with... but, it seesm primarily aimed at replacing weapon models and the like... noone ever really posted ANYTHING about actually getting player models to be replaced...
OK, after spending an hour reading through all the trash and grabbing the tidbits that are worth something, I got all the files I needed, wnet and compiled ALL the core plugins needed (no errors !!) got them all uploaded, and found I needed a module "installed", so back I went, got the newest version (3.14 of the array module) but I can not get the module to load, says bad load... so I put back in the original I had from the AMXX download, and I still get an error trying to load thatmodule, and all of this NEEDS this module to work (13 core plugins !!) So at this time its a bust for me. I can not waste anymore time trying to get soemthing to work that someone else has considered "finished" and gauging by her replies, I will be the LAST person to tell her it does not work for me... lol (Twilight Sazuka)

The update (3.14) was posted August 25, 2006, so I am pretty sure it is up to date... and to be honest... I would rather have Zor's laggy plugin, then try to deal with TS mess... thats a whole lot of extra shit, just to "switch" models up... I am sure Zor's plugin needs a bit of minor rework, another guy is using code on his plugin (dod_connection) and though I havn't tried it, I havn't seen any complaints about it either...

I was reading about this plugin and became interested.
I had a friend make some models. They are preanimated. There are many to chose from.
For mine I would like it to use #23
But anyways Ill attach them on this post for you guys :)

Those models, while definetly female, do NOT contain any of the necessary DOD animations.... they are CS hostage clones....

I noticed that Tatsu. They'll work but the animations will be the wrong ones.
it can be fixed in the .qc file however.

Yeh I know there CS should have said that but yes they can be fixed and possibly reanimated into DoD

all you would need to do is say for example.. decompile them and decompile a dod player model.. switch the reference smd file in the dod model qc and recompile... bone structure is probably the same or at least close enough where no wierd animation errors would happen

If this is trully an effective way of "hacking" a model to play the necessary animations for DOD, then that is awesome.... I will look into this...

Im working on the models but I gotta keep reading up on it or get someone who already knows what there doing and ask for help.

im not sure 'rearranging' the cs sequences would work.. as i believe the models have some different (such as hand signals) animations and different names...

Alright guys I got this far or atleast what I think is pretty far :P
I decompiled models for both there QC's
I open them up
Now what do I do
I tried changing the hitboxes and the seqences then just recompiling but that doesnt work
For anyone else who want to try it

well seeing as how theres specific animations for each weapon for standing, crouched, prone..
you gonna put in 300 place holders? so that none of the firing animations look correct either?
plus i was just playing with it.. and it seems that the dod player models have 1 more bone in the spine that is referenced in other bones in the animation.. that was giving me errors compiling.. i dont feel like getting more into right now so maybe later ill take a better look at it

to move the cs model over to the dod bones you'd have to reattach each vertex to a bone

sorry this is so old, I may be able to help. Theres gotta be a simpler way to rig that female model. Attach all the vertices? Arent there any hierarchy chains or constraints?

Here are a few CS Female models, if someone wants to take a crack at it. I tried and was unable to compile them. The bones probably need to be changed, and that would take a bit of work I think.
I think the Kate model, mouth opens and closes if that gives you guys any ideas,lol.

Well i tryed to compile a female model with all the animation sequences, but there is more the 300 of them for each model, thats alot :) One decompiled model is around 80 mb. But i think it possible tho.. My biggest problem today i think was that vista didnt like GUI studioMDL. Ill give it a shoot again tomorrow... But no promise that i can do it lol...
