I see that he does not have one for the mg's.

Can this be added with ease?

I think the mg tracers are already a part of the game.

Heres a tip,
You need to get the forcetracers to make this work at its best though.
If you make the values of the tracers the same as the mg, you get some pretty cool tracers.

I briefly recall using this plugin in another server, and it was really neat.

One problem I noticed was that whenever I simply switched weapons, it would fire the tracer..which obviously was strange, but makes sense now that I see it's being fired each CurWeapon.

In order to fix this you could:

A. Make a global [33] array and store each player's ammo every time you hook CurWeapon, then check to see if it's been decreased the next time.

B. Instead of hooking CurWeapon, hook FM_PlaybackEvent, which is called every time a weapon is fired so that other players can hear and see the firing happening.

Obviously option B is far more efficient and should stop this problem of tracers being fired simply by switching weapons.

i found some blemish:

1. could not see the tracers except MG's when you died or you are spectator

2. the tracers didn't come from the gunpoint instead from above of it when you deploy the MG

3. sometime you could not see the flame of the gunpoint

pls fix them.

:p

1. could not see the tracers except MG's when you died or you are spectator

ya its probably set to only let living players see them

2. the tracers didn't come from the gunpoint instead from above of it when you deploy the MG

pretty sure that has to do with the tracer offset value and possibly just with the wierdness of dod to begin with, this plugin doesnt affect tracers of MGs at all, since they already have them to begin with

3. sometime you could not see the flame of the gunpoint

i dont see how this plugin could affect muzzleflashes, it has nothing to do with them..

maybe someday i'll get around to touching this up.. but its at the end of quite a long list that i dont really do much with to begin with lol

maybe my all problem is affected by dod_forcetracers?

if u change the cvars as follows:

dod_traceralpha "0.35"
dod_tracerblue "2.50"
dod_tracergreen "0.5"
dod_tracerlength "1.5"
dod_traceroffset "10"
dod_tracerred "0.5"
dod_tracerspeed "1000"

the tracers of MG will be changed :p

I really like this pluguin.

When I shot.. I have trouble seeing the tracers but when others shoot. WOW!!

I have left the settings at default on the tarcers. If anyone has changed them for there server please let me know. I would like to see how they look.... So I may get a better idea.

Thanks

I run this plugin as well , it is great for figuring out where you`re being shot from , but I had to turn it off for sniper rifles , since it , well yeah...snipers dont use tracers.

I have had a handfull of people gripe about it , comments like "why do we all have lazer guns" and stuff. but overall , everyone likes it.

Is there a way to set this plugin so allies have one color tracer and axis another?

diamond-optic

no it just uses the message thats used by the MGs for tracers, which are controlled by one set of cvars..

there is a diff message that lets you set the colors, im not sure how good it work or how it looks but i did want to one day try using that instead so ppl could set seperate colors for each team
