I was thinking of this really cool plugin.

It would make cs weapons available to DoD players

And it would definately need the following
1. A menu to choose classes.
2. A menu for admins to turn on/off / change mp_limits / Remove Weapons from Client Menu / Add Weapons to Client Menu / Make it so only admins can use the weapons


This would be similar to the mortar plugin.

Only added menus and it would also be more than one weapon.

I would like to see if anyone could handle such a task.

I belive if you do this youd get your plugin put on many DoD servers.

I would suggest putting this plug on Amx Mod X website also

Custom weapons are a pain in the ass, and a full compliment of weapons to choose from, would almost be damn near impossible... ( I use the word impossible lightly, the last person to tell me something was impossible, drove me to figuring out what I wanted WAS possible !! )

I for one would never run a DOD server with CS weapons... they do not fit the timeline...

My opinion... (not meant to be rude!)
If you want to use CS weapons, play CS....

It would be something to turn on and off. I mean it would be something cool and new to try. Definately Unique.

Okay so I wouldn't want all the weapons. I sure would like to have just the AK-47. Now how far off is that? It was originally designed in 1947! :) I would add this if it's not too hard. Anybody got this knowledge to share? Thank!!!

Tatsu is right, this plugin is huge. My humble advice, if you want to use CS weapons in DoD, just use the model. For instance you could use it on client side and provide the model through your forums.

The model itsself can give you some issues as well. My model skills or altering model skills are quite bad, I admit. But CS has by default lefthanded models, well my members weren't happy with a left handed model. So I mirrored the model, but that was really weird as the bolt and arm handeling wasn't humanly possible....it looked weird.

What you perhaps can do is use for instance the default model and create a plugin (I have no idea if this is even possible) which when a user selects stg44 it uses the ak47 model from cs. Just for the session on your server.

As for the original idea....you are talking about a plugin which would affect cpu usage of your server with players in drasticly. And not to mention the size of the plugin just to write it. Take a look at for example (perhaps a bad example) at the flamethrower or the mortar plugin, those are quite big multiply that by several times for different guns....Not my advice to set your mind at. But thats my opinion.

Ps: not that Im that confincing with my advice, but if you want information on how to put the model on a client or how to mirror them. I can assist I believe.

Remember if you use above posted plugin (nice find btw) that you can't just simply add any cs model to a dod model. Animations is a b***h. For example if you put a shotgun model (benelli if I remember right) on for example a m1 carbine, you will notice while the shotgun is still reloading you are already shooting with the carbine.

So just compare the clips from each gun with the dod guns and do it by trial and error.

well changing the framerate of the animations is pretty simple.. but in some cases you would have to increase the speed of them so much that it would look ridiculous

but then again if you want to use modern weapons in a game based around 1940 its gonna look a bit ridiculous anyway imo lol
