hey people!
i'm pretty sure that some of you are willing to support us a bit,
so i wrote a little plugin with what you can do that easiely.
it will display one/random/all of the messages below in your
set delay.

(all cvars for your amxx.cfg)

dod_support_message <1/2/3/4/5/6/0>

- sets what message should be displayed:
1 = [AMXX DoD Team] This Server is using # awsome Plugins from http://www.dodplugins.net
2 = [AMXX DoD Team] Get cool DoD Plugins at http://www.dodplugins.net, we already use #!
3 = [AMXX DoD Team] http://www.dodplugins.net - all you need for your DoD Server!
4 = [AMXX DoD Team] This Server is powered by # quality DoD Plugins from http://www.dodplugins.net
5 = always display a random of the above messages
6 = display all above messages in a looped row
0 = no message is displayed
(NOTE: # = number of plugins from dodplugins.net running on your server)


dod_support_delay <seconds>

- sets delay in seconds between the messages
(NOTE: if you choose a value greater than 3600 seconds [=60minutes], the plugin will automatically use a delay of 60 minutes!)don't worry, it will be discrete chat text style messages and won't
spam your screen.

For All Develeopers please make you Author reflect using either of the following:

i think the source was kept private because of this:

NOTE: if you choose a value greater than 900 seconds [=15minutes], the plugin will automatically use a delay of 15 minutes!

so that ppl couldnt make it greater then 15minutes..

but to be honest.. i think thats stupid.. if someone is gonna run this and support the forums.. let them use whatever time they want.. cause 15minutes can be too often sometimes.. and its better to have them run it at 60mins then to say screw it im not running it at all...

agreed I dont run it yet, but would if I could choose how often it is broadcast. Right now I have too many things spamming my screen. Darned HLGuard, AMXX, and a few other things... but I can limit some to allow one more if its not all the time... and once per map would be nice.

Agreed. I still say wait till zor gets around to reading this. He'll have our opinions and his own to make a suggestion and maybe a decision.

Just my opinion, but isn't it just as easy to put a small plug in the motd, or in the scrolling AMXX message? I put one in the motd myself.

while your doing that zor.. i think you should change this:

..if they are actually going to run this :) lol, why not let them use whatever delay they want lol, better then ppl not running it because it has to be at least every 15mins

Yeah, and add sockets so that I can create a webpage to find out who is using how many plugins so that we can get a gauge on it...nothing obtrusive just a server name / ip / port / plugin count going to the server...

Modified this to use pcvar and a new feature that will be avaliable shortly. This plugin will connect to our website and add your server and its address to our data base along with the server name ip and port so that people will be able to connect to your server from us!

And suddenly there is a very good reason to run this plugin. Something that can't be done more simply with the scrolling AMXX message, or the motd... ;)

how do you plan on having it connect to the site?

originally i had a similar idea that would use a public cvar (sorta like the tracker stuff that bail made)

I will show you the code in the Admin Area...its called only once on the plugin starting up...and its a real simple line sent to the server...the http server does the work not the plugin...

I think maybe you misunderstood what I was saying Zor. With the way the plugin was before, as far as I was concerned, what you wanted to accomplish could just as easily be accomplished with the motd, or the scrolling AMXX message. However with this new version of the plugin, now it does something you can't accomplish that way, which makes it much more worthwhile, in my opinion. Good job!

I do have one suggestion though. The "http://" tag may make the address a functionally correct url, but that isn't really important as no one is going to be linking to your site from within the game. I think it would be simpler and cleaner if you just used the address "www.dodplugins.net". If you can bold it, change the font or colour, or do something else to make it stand out, even better.

Your servers are showing up in the list! Great and thanks...as for the fix, I will do so and at the next release, when I update the plugin to allow ppl to become admins of their listed server I will make sure thats good to go.

If you are looking for my server on the list you won't find it all that often. I only run a DOD server two or three times a month on Friday or Saturday nights. The explanation is a bit long and complicated, but if you are curious, you can check out my clan website here (http://www.crazy-canucks.com/). I´m currently working on the official server for the 1.3 community and i wounder if it is possible to get this plugins but with other text in it. It should work the same but with other text content for sponsors and such.
