When I first installed shrikebot I did it based off the instructions someone had posted on the gameservers.com forum and it worked perfectly. I put the link below if you wanna give it a shot. Let me know how it goes.

Some of the biggest problems you'll run into will be library issues. If you have access to the command line on the linux box, it's generally something easy to figure out (well, for me anyway). Following instructions doesn't necessarily help in this situation.
I had one person that rented a gameserver running gentoo, but didn't have the proper libstdc++ files (and the company had no clue wtf to do).
After ftp'ing some of the *.so files, and modifying his LD_LIBRARY_PATH to use these, I got him up and running in a few hours. All this was done with only ftp access (so it can definitely be done, just with a lot of hard work).
Let me know how far you progress. I have yet to be stumped getting something up and running on a linux box.

well I have 2 linux dod servers and it took a little bit of tinkering around, but however I did get it to work. There was a couple of things that I ended up doing that was not discussed in any forums or installation guides. One of the things was I found a special metamod, not the one at metamod's site. The other thing was is that I actually had to hard command shrikebot in my command line when I actually bring the server up.
If you are still having problems I would be more than happy to help you out with this. I can even swing you the correct metamod.
PS I would go my route b4 you try to change library paths for linux, please consider what i am saying. Not that its a bad idea, but I never had to do this to get mine working on my linux server.
