In need of game server....

I have had to suddenly cancel my service with gameservers.com for very unethical business practices... long story short.. I am not going to pay 2.82 a slot when they advertise at 1.99 which is what they tried to sneak by me this month....

EDIT: Originally asked for suggestions.. took the first offered... not bad, not great, but works and was $1 a slot...

They told me to have a friend who wanted a multiple server package contact them.. so he goes into the irc and all they did brag about how good of a company they are and act like total ***holes to my friend.

so he found his servers at, im thinking of switching too if gameservers keeps treating people this way.

OMG cancel my whole account... first you only charge me $24 for 28 slots for over 9 months, then one day you guys jack it up to almost $60 a month ... if this is not bad enough.. I finally did the math... and you are charging me $2.32 a slot for the server now and advertise for less then $2 FUCK THAT cancel my service.. I can not stand the way you all operate your business... atleast put on some vaseline before coming after me again...

Emm sir I think you may want to take a look at your math again 39.45 / 28 = $1.40 per slot... I think you may have accidentally miss read it.
If I have made an error please do let me know but I think that I am correct in say that you might have made a mistake.

The reason it shows what it does NOW is because I had first put in a ticket to reduce the server to 16 slots (which is slated for 11/27) and after making that "downgrade" the price changed... just for shits and giggles im going to drop it down again ...
My math is fine...

BTW, the price you stated (39.45) INCLUDES a donation made during this previous term that was applied to the price... and how about now that it shows $4 something ???

www.bloodservers.com I'm trying out a server from there but they are a bit laggy even without all the maps and amxx. I'm transferring the addons now but Maps no way over 100 maps to transfer. I ain't doing that right now.

Oh yeah there price per slot is $1.00 and you get a teamspeak with a slot for every slot you get with the server (I think)(I actually didn't know about the teamspeak deal until after I got the server) Hope that helps ya a bit dude

AWESOME !! I will be probably going with these peeps come the 27th... I don't mind the lag, will never trully be rid of it with any provider... but let me know how it goes (the uploading) and stuff... do you like the control panel ? Can you start/stop/restart server from panel ? Post the ip once you have it setup so I can come try it out...

So far so good !! I love the options in the control panel, epsecially the ability to manually update the steam server !! That in itself is nice... there is a command line editor !! even a quick link to edit amxx users !!

Yeah but I'm doing the amxx myself cause the amxx that is there is with cstrike for some reason. My one is from NY aswell. I really like the control panel from BloodServers rather than stupid GameServers. Took me a while to get into the server files through ftp :P Let me know if you have any problems with the server. Maybe we can help each other on this one :P

and i rarely even need to use support for anything.. just when my ftp goes down once and a while..

Damn, Tatsu if I would known about you needing a server when you where in mine I coulda hooked you up real cheap through my friends.... Im paying like 15 a month for a 16 slot server.... that isnt bad at all.. Now thats under half of what gameservers was trying to charge you... Only thing is my friends dont have a east coast box yet but will soon!

I plan on getting switched over to that box

BloodServers are fair annoying. They won't let you have AdminMod and AmxModX on at the same time. I need some plugins from AdminMod and I can't get them.GRRRR. Stupid BloodServers. Will you be able to hook me up if they get a New York service?

beware cheaply priced game servers...I rented one from biggdaddys gamming of the 80211 clan , he charged me $55 a month for a 24man server and threw in a free 12 man private server for matches.

what he didnt throw in was...a control pannel....so I could reset or restart the server when it crashed , which it did almost weekly...at that point I had to email him and ask for a restart , he would then have to finally get around to restarting it for me , and it would take a good day or more sometimes to get it running again.

you might want to check with Escaped Turkey , they offer HL 1/2 servers for $1 a slot per month , but I dont see DOD or CS or any other HL 1/2 mod on the list , but I`m sure if they offer HL1 they offer its mods, but its worth asking.

seriously , I`ve had game servers now for a good year and when I place a support ticket , I get the same thing every time.

me: help my server crashed , I have not installed any mods and I cant restart it.

them: have you installed any new mods ? if so turn them off and restart your server.

me:I said I didnt install any new mods , restart my server and restart my amxmodx as well as every time you restart my server my amxmodx doesnt work.

them: . . .

I get no answer from them at that point ever again , about 4 hours later the server restarts and I have to close the ticket.

their support is great the first month , after that , forget it...

but other then that. get a linux server from them and enjoy months of crash free gamming.

what i used to do if i didnt get a support ticket response quick enough for my liking... i just went on irc and PM'd one of the gameserver admins that ive known for over a year..they usually get me squared away lol...

always good to have friends in high places lol

tho i do get those dumb responses that seem like they dont read what you put and they just copy and paste a defualt response...

I looked into getting a T1 or T3 installed in my home just to keep from renting a server ever again...and well....HA ! its much cheaper to rent.

but yes you are correct....verizons....fiber optic to your door is a great plan....but its going to take forever for them to lay all that fiber , and they started in the richest areas first...so if you are in a small town with little money in it....you are last on the list....as allways...comcast is the same way....if you have the $$$ they will run your cable 5000000ft , but if you dont...they wont....ever.

I am still on BloodServers, but last night I had my server location changed from NY to Chicago...

I have been using NY for the past 2 years and about the time I left GameServers I noticed it got a bit peculiar... but once I was with BloodServers the server was absolutely horrible, timeouts every 5-10 seconds, etc... up and running on the Chicago server now and the server is nice and smooth, no timeouts, no more crashes and all my plugins are up and running again (long story, but the machines in NY have issues)

still going to consider branzone though... or atleast keep them in the back of my mind..

Interesting ... Ive tried "private server dealers" and few other professional game server providers like Branezone and found that Gameservers was one of the smoothest for us and very little issues. Tho they luv to keep me on auto pay when I ask not to lol. Guess everyone has different experiences. Good luck, know its always a pain finding a legit/smooth Game Server Provider.
