Steam Servers are down. Was just on the steam website and the forums say that because of some storm in seattle the power has knocked all the steam servers offline.

Why this stupid steam company has seen fit to only base their servers in the rain capital of the world, I will never know.

The ETA is unknown as to a fix at this point. The damned power company wont work until the wind and rain dies down.

Hope this helps tatsu.

ok i just got mine to work..

quite simple too...

i deleted my clientregistry.blob file out of my main steam directory... (i believe one thing it does is 'save' the steam server address that you 'use') and then restart steam.. let it update.. enter your password.. and you should be on

:-)

at least it worked for me and 4 or 5 other ppl i've told so far..

haha, my default suggestion to most others when they have troubles with steam... but alas, I tried this one (three times to be sure) and alas it didn't help me... I am sure it will simply be a matter of time... and in the meantime if we all still have spotty issues getting logged in, I can only imagine what it is going to be like trying to connect to secure servers... the empty ones...

VAC is down also. I only see a few VAC secure servers. I have tried to reboot my server through GS and it takes a few attempts to fire it up and when it does it is not VAC secure. It has been over 24 hours now, I am getting impatient. I hope it is atleast up by today.

is anyone having trouble keeping their server up period, or is that just me and coincedence with the current steam issue ??

My server just keeps shutting down, I sent in a support ticket and because I was honest enough to mention I recently added new plugins, but removed those SAME plugins, their response centered on those plugins, despite being OFF now.. and server still crashes...

I just wonder if it has to do with being VAC enabled but running insecure...

My server has been off line since early friday morning. no masters loaded using default master. While the total of servers avaliable in my area have gone down to around 700, usually around 1300 for this area. S.E. U.S. Hopefully things will return to normal soon. Steam forums are a cluster right now. peace

As far as I can tell my server is staying up, but when I try to reboot it to see if VAC is back online it takes a few attempts to get it launched agained and so far no VAC.

I thought right now would be an early Christmas for hackers since 95% of the servers have lost VAC coverage but I have not seen any activity in my server.

Everything seems to be back in business for all servers that I can see with VAC. My server didn't do good at all over the last few days and now it's doing alrite again....
