Information:

- Will play 1 of 3 (random) dod source headshot
sounds when a player dies from a headshot

Extra:

Put the "headshot1.wav" in /dod/sound/misc/
Put the "headshot2.wav" in /dod/sound/misc/
Put the "headshot3.wav" in /dod/sound/misc/

put the headshot waves in the misc folder..
put the amxx in the plugin folder
put the amx thing in the plugins.ini

and it says this.

DoD Headshot Soun 1.2 AMXX DoD Team dod_headshot_so running

this was taken from hlsw so it cuts off stuff, but there are no sounds in game.

is this because I dont have the latest 1.75a ?

hmm to be honest, i cant recall if I made any changes to it when 1.75 came out lol..

is it creating any errors in the amxx logs?

i have 1.75 also and i tried to put the sounds on my server, there were no errors at all, it seem as though it was all running perfectly but when i got it it didnt play any sounds at all

For me it works fine but i changed from the sounds to the old Headshot sounds when a guy says Headshot...

Old headshot sounds would be from AMX standard I believe. You access them through amxmodmenu command. Under stats configs. Either way that wouldnt point to Diamonds plugin working.....

Hook it up a little more please Diamond, I am looking to replace the normal sounds.

well there isnt really much i can do.. its an extremely simple plugin and theres no real reason why it shouldnt work..especially if your not getting any errors...

try moving it around in the plugins.ini
there might be a plugin before it in the list that is doing something that prevents this one from getting called properly

I installed the plugin but it didn't work. I'm not sure if plugins are the same for dod as they are for cs but I was just wonder if you could check my steps and tell me what i did wrong.

1. DLed the sound files and created sounds/misc and placed them in there
2. DLed the .sma file and compiled it to .amxx and placed it in the plugins folder and added .amxx to plugins.ini

Do I even have to compile the .sma file or do I just need to place the files in sounds/misc and it'll work?

ya you compile it and put the .amxx in the amxmodx/plugins/ folder

and you probably just typed this wrong in the post but: sounds/misc
should be sound/misc

i just noticed that the changes from v1.2 arent actually in the code.. its still at .8 and not .75.. but whatever lol that doesnt matter at all, wouldnt make any difference in it working or not..


whats your server IP? i'll try to get a chance and stop in and see for myself :P

anti-respawn is a plugin that I made and have not released yet. you will know when it is released - it will be posted on your forums ;)

Locked chase cam for spec...look through your server.cfg that's just a cvar i believe.

they're no voices in these sounds.. they are just the sounds used in dod:source for headshots...

play the wav files and you'll see what they are...

I installed on 1.75a and dont work. I see that the plugin is runnig but when I hit to the head I cant hear the wavs. So who hear the wavs? the atacker, the victim or both??

if the plugin is running and the sound files are uploaded correctly.. it should be working..

Speaking of gore..... The bleeding sound isnt there when you set bleeding sound on low health either. Believe me, I am not trying to bash you, you are my favorite plugin creator. Just thought I would point out some issues. Would love to see them work correctly.

If not gore, then maybe shellshock?

Not sure. I get the sound from the gores headshot kind of a "sploot", right after the brain gibbie jumps out. Also I get the ring from shellshock.

I just had my ex-wife look at it, now she isnt a coder by any means but she is a program analyist and has a little experience. Now having said that we came up with this:

public plugin_precache()

Are you calling the sound from sound_precache? if so this is turned off on my server as I have had people crashing on game entry because of this and then they cant get back in. Me included.

If this indeed could be it.... would you mind editing it for me? To call it from some other method and then email it to me or post it here as another option?

well its not being 'called' from the public_precache.. that function just precaches the files.. loads them into the memory..

thats where you have to precache files that are used by plugins.. so if you have it disabled on the server (how'd you do that by the way) it wont load the files that any plugin is trying to precache..

when you have it enabled & it crashes .. does it give you any console printouts clientside (unless if its a ctd) or serverside?

Ok it was not sound_precache... My bad, it was statssound..... either way not the same thing...

The only things I got client side was that damn .res file error where it reports a .res file is missing and freakin steam has an empty .res file to put in your steam/whatthehellever/folder that will make it all good.

Ok, well now the headshot sounds are working.... dunno why it waited, but I love it and it blends in seemlessly.

heh.. and i no longer have a large plugin list running.. i implemented the per-map plugins feature added in amxx 176 to help keep my numbers down :) so my ava specific plugins only load on ava, hill plugins only load on hill.. and then some other things like splash effect only loads on maps with water.. etc etc. hopefully ill get a little cpu boost out of it :-)

I have begun to use this per map feature. I thank you again for pointing that out to me. Makes it a little nicer to have the right plugins load only when needed.

Kool plugin Diamond, I have a much better headshot wav if you would like to check it out. When the bullet hits the target there is an incredible thud with a tink for the helmut hit. When i first heard it , It scared the crap out of me. Now i can't play without it. This is a must for realism servers for sure.
Hmm i thought at one point there was a way to attach a file in dodplugins.

I guess im going crasy. Oh well. Nice plugin.

Having problems with the compiler, getting error msg.s on both the upload and paste feature for use with 1.76d.

Any thoughts?

you have to be doing it wrong because i did not have this until tonight, compiled it and one of my members psayd me in game and said what the hell we have new headshot sounds. so i know it works, keep trying or post more of what is going on ill help you out
