Is there a way for this to be changed so all players (even people with immunity) see black when they go spec. IF so, please let me know.

ffs read the cvar list....

dod_admin_deathfade "1" - 0 = disable 1 = enable admin death fade usage

you can either disable the admin effect and it will happen to everyone.. OR you can enable the effect and then change the admin specific cvars to make them a different color, or black, but if you are going to make them black and everyone else black, then you can simply disable the admin setting and run black on all...

update only "adds" usage of cvars that simlpy were not being accessed before because of a stupid typing error on my part... updating the plugin is as simple as just adding the new version over the old and next map change will take new plugin into effect, and 90% will probably never notice a difference (unless they tried coloring an ADMIN on death and found it looked the same as ALLIES... lol)

hm..either i'm really stupid or something isn't right. I inserted these in the cvars menu, but my admins with immunity can see when they go spec. However, when they die, it goes to black, so i know i did that one right.

"dod_admin_deathfade" "0" "1" "u"
"dod_admin_specfade" "0" "1" "u"

in amxx.cfg do you have settings for these options ??

dod_deathfade_admin_red "0"
dod_deathfade_admin_green "0"
dod_deathfade_admin_blue "0"
dod_deathfade_admin_alpha "255"

dod_specfade_admin_red "0"
dod_specfade_admin_green "0"
dod_specfade_admin_blue "0"
dod_specfade_admin_alpha "255"

also, make sure you grabbed this recent update I posted in the middle of our forum postings... that will ensure plugin works flawlessly (as a crucial mistake was found in the 'original' version which will affect proper usage for what you specifically want)

I have been using the other deathfade that turns the screen red when you die.

seems like , everytime I load a fade to black or somthing like that , I get a million posts on my forums saying..."I hate that black out ****" "turn it off" "i dont know what to do while I`m dead if I cant look around" etc.

I may give this a try to see if it will help.

Ah, I was hoping that it wouldn't work on admins with immunity, but it would work with admins without it.

Going to try this out as soon as I get back to my home CPU and start working on the server - Tatsu, you have solved so many of the problems I was having with dod_fadetoblack in a really easy, customizable form. Thanks a million!

Ok, I get a lot of issues client-side (I don't experience them, but lots of players do, some even experience this after restarting steam/dod/computer)
Where when the fade mode is enabled, entities don't appear right - some people can't see doors, can't see rubble, can't see enemies, etc.

It's possible to control what dead people view using
mp_forcecamera
and mp_forcechasecam

Does anyone know of similar cvars that effect clients, or even the client commands to change views so that one could force client to view their previous team in 1st person only?

Odd, I have a hard time accepting that this plugin has the ability to do something such as this... The ONLY thing thsi plugin does is alter the "color" of the screen display (generally filling it in with what ever color you set up) ... the only time I have seen entities disappear is when too many appear on the map in one location to close together, then the engine has to "decide" which to render and which to not... and sometimes... that means render none for a few seconds (have seen on Charlie with ALOT of smoke nades out on beach) ... but for a fade effect to cause this... just not possible (or I am missing something in the grand scheme of things..)

I don't know, I believe you and am completely with you, but some players on my server are finding this problem only when I have the fade cvars set so that it's active, and I can't isolate any other possible cause. I don't think it's this, but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this problem?

I am going to install tonight and fiddle with the variables later.

BTW, What are the "alpha" cvars?
