As the title states, it'd be cool to have like a compass that states the 4 directions, and like it rotates as you walk in the direction (like a real compass). It's a pain in the ass to bring up the big map in the middle of a scrim because then you can't walk and shoot at the same time. Thought it'd be kind of neat.

That would require modification on the client side, something MetaMod cannot do. Plus, just use the small mini-map in the corner - the top is north, left is west, etc. :P

Modifying the client side is theoretically possible, but everyone would have to download it and VAC would catch it and ban the clients using it.

yea but, minimap isn't cool lol. Would it be possible for people to type like /compas, then the model would come up. Or does that complicate things.

well... if you are not using a minimap... then what do you need a compass for other then useless decoration ?? don't get me wrong.. just help me to understand what it is wanted for ...

Realism scrims, mostly. Not like people actually use their minimap in pub, just trying to add a bit of spice to the scrims we have. But, if alot of you feel it's stupid and useless, that's your opinion.

I'm sorry.. I never implied stupid... I just failed to understand a "need" for it ... and some people DO use their minimap while pubbing...


Now my whole point was this... a compass simply to have a compass.. well... I still fail to see the overall point... BUT.. if the compass was designed to "point" toward a flag as you got closer to it... then I could see its use, especially on unknown custom maps, or servers using a random flag plugin, then it would help to locate hard to find capture areas...
