I may be out of place here, and IF I am I apologize now, but I DO have a few things to say about what I have seen go on in the past few weeks.
I will be the first to admit that I am responsible for removing ALOT of messages lately made by other regular members here. I am sick and tired of coming in here and seeing some of the snotty unneeded replies to some of the others who simply want help. If I am wrong, someone with a level greater then me is welcome to correct me, but the main point of this forum is to PROVIDE for others who simply do not have the knowledge or ability that us DEVELOPERS have. It is nice when a non-dev can provide an answer, but to put someone down, or tell them to go elsewhere for something that WE can provide is simply rude and wrong.
We ALL love DoD and is why we all gather here, I do not care if your server is the best in the world or the worst.. if you play DoD and run a server then you are helping to keep it alive.
I have seen alot of threads go off topic in favor of putting people down, or bragging about something completely not relevant to the topic at hand...
I will continue to remove those posts from now on and make a greater effort at keeping things clean... if you do not have anything constructive to say then CLOSE DOWN YOUR WEB BROWSER, but for the love of God do not act like an asshat.
This forum IS about PLUGINS for AMXX, BUT alot of us developers started or concurrently do many other things for the game, like making maps... so if a guy wants to ask about a map or how to do something with a map, then LET them... I am willing to help, I know diamond has mapped and still tinkers... and it is completely valid to ask us about it all... its all about making DoD better one server, one map, one person at a time...
If you think someone is asking hwo to do something you think is super simple then fkin HELP them but do not put them down for not knowing what you do ... If that was the case I could easily put alot of people down, but I do not.. everyone works on their own level and I RESPECT that, and the moment I see others fail to, it upsets me... we all started not knowing jack shit about what we do know, and for most of us it was the HELP others provided that brought us to the point we are at now. So instead of trying to keep your role at the top of whatever highhorse you are on.. take a step back and reassess why YOU are here... obviously you don't know how to do something either, and would you have liked it if someone told you to "fk off" ??? No I bet you would not have... if you are recieving the benefits or our time, hard work, and ability then be prepared to give something back... COURTESY is a start.
And this is one other small note... if you do know about something that others are interested in, either share you knowledge or keep your mouth shut... but short snippy replies are helping noone...
