    October (June?) 2019 hlds update...

    Did this mess up anyone else's server?


    I had to disable a plugin right off the bat becuase it was crashing the server: FATAL ERROR (shutting down): PF_MessageBegin_I: New message started when msg '70' has not been sent yet


    > Getting constant server console spam: Message name too long: ScoreInfoLong
    > It appears that client_print's are just showing as "%s" in the chat now.
    > Player models are sometimes getting replaced by really glitchy gordon freeman models


    ..and im also getting other strange random bugs and plugin errors that I had never got before. I'm hoping I can narrow it down to a few plugins and that it's not affecting everything lol.






    so I cant really be the only server suffering this kind of stuff since update....

    So I've narrowed some of the issues down to being amxx related.

    The client_print issue happens with amxx v1.10.5380 and up (latest at time of this post is 5386). It works fine if I revert to 5378. I reported this on the amxx github.

    Also reverting back to 5378 makes the crashing plugin stop crashing (dod_corpse_fade)

    The glitchy freeman models is being caused by one of my plugins, but I have yet to look into why it is doing that now. I also havent re-enabled any other plugins that started giving me errors so I'm not yet sure if reverting the amxx resolved any of the other plugin issues.

    But the server console spam happens with a fresh stock hlds, even without metamod or amxmodx running.

    Getting a few errors on TEK server...

    • RELIABLE CHANNEL OVERFLOW
    • too many particlesParticleman is out of memory while using developer 1 mode
    • Message name too long: ScoreInfoLong we get this even if not connected to a server (New Game - not connected to a server)


    Any help would be appreciated.

    so I recently resolved a bunch of errors, crashes, and broken plugins that I was getting since the last update. Turns out the dod fun module has some hardcoded offsets in it that were no longer correct.

    Ive updated them (as well as another bug i found in the process lol) and tested it out on my server and all seems to be fixed now.. I submitted a pull request on the amxmodx github so at some point the fixed module should be part of future builds

    Getting the same error, but we are running AMXMODX 1.8.2

    We're not even sure why it started popping up. We had other errors of the server crashing when a player logged in but it seems to be random (time, latency and player varies).
    The above Msg error has showed up after we been running with less plugins to figure out the crash problem. Currently with less plugins, our server has had less crashes, but still crashes.

    the issue with the chat stuff was fixed in amxx (https://github.com/alliedmodders/amx...053db8dd7f8902)

    the issue with the broken dod modules will affect all previous versions of amxx as it was caused by a change on valves end with the hlds update.

    but my pull request was just accepted and now the current github version contains the fixes to the dod modules that I submitted (https://github.com/alliedmodders/amx...4bc4891e87a645)
