Before I post something like this. I first would like to hear your thoughts. Is dodplugins.net even willing to link their name to something like this? Are their flaws in my idea and should I rethink it or is it doomed upon start?nnA league - sponsored by dodplugins.netnnMy idea is to start a league "sponsored by dodplugins.net". Dodplugins.net provided me for years with plugins and knowledge and I feel obligated to do something in return. This is my idea:nnA league supported by any clan willing to help out with administration, installation, resources and organisation from dodplugins.net or clans outside dodplugins.net to promote dodplugins.net as a community. This is my main goal as I believe this community will keep Day of Defeat as much alive as possible. nnThere were plans posted a while ago about creating a server hosted by dodplugins.net, in all honesty I saw many points where the plan could get stuck on, mainly traffic from our own member servers going to dodplugins.net. Since this presented idea is one-time per week deal this disadvantage would not be present.nnAdvertisement:nA way for clans to advertise their website and community. Although dodplugins.net supports this function i believe with a multi-clan league we can reach even further. With dodplugins.net linked to this we extend our resources for Day of Defeat 1.3nnPromotion:nThe big brains of DoD 1.3 from dodplugins.net behind a league if successfully could shine a nice bright ligth on dodplugins.net and perhaps bring more life into this community (with no disrespect but atm the activity level is quite low).nnResources:nServers:nThe level to other leagues like TPG, CeVo but also in the late years CAL was still around, for one is servers. You ever found a tutorial how to set up a match server? I know how to but for beginning server founders? If the clans participating provide any match server, we could provide at least several servers to host the matches. I for one can bring for the moment 2 match servers but since we run a dedicated server we could also look into bigger numbers.nnWebserver/website:nKMLeague (www.kmleague.net) provides an automated script for leagues. I have no idea how to program or change php and my HTML is also poorly, still I managed to set up a proper looking website through KMLeague (bamleague (a preset is found at www.clanbam.com/league)). The hosting for this should not be a problem. I for one am willing to host it.nnWhat about the rest?:nIn order for this to work, clans will have to work together for once. Besides mutual benefits and personal network which keep communities like dodplugins.net and alliedmodders.net alive there is not much cooperation between clans.nnSo in order to set a proper foundation we will have to combine thoughts, ideas and suggestions and resources into something successfull. I have suggestiosn but i want to hear yours.nnKEEP DAY OF DEFEAT ALIVE, HELP ME :D

I am interested in this idea. I can setup a league.dodplugins.net with no difficulty. What I need to understand is the idea here. It sounds intriguing, however, I am missing something I think. WRT this, I use to have a plugin that would put banned players into a DB, and then link this DB to all the servers who wanted access to it. Please elaborate more on this within the thread if you could. It sounds more like an Alliance to me more than a League.rnrnCheers!

nnAMXbans could also perform this (www.amxbans.net and new development on www.amxbans.de).nnI already tried it once before but was kinda hold back with the whole idea to bring other clans in on this. It was called bamleague, temporary put on hold by me losing the files with the change over from NFO (Nuclear Fallouts) and my new dedicated server.nnThe reason I did not present the idea is to put room for input from others. Perhaps my vision is not shared by others. I know Rolling Death had another idea how to set up a league. If you want my vision it would be like I set up bamleague. Remember, this is in large lines how I would do it, I'm not saying that it should. In this I mention TPG and CeVo, I have nothing against these leagues I just think everyone has their own point of view on how to run a league.nnDivisions:nnDivision USAnThis division supports players from the USA timezones.nnDivision GlobalnThis division supports players from other timezones outside USA.nnTeams:nOne team per player, a max of lets say 9.nnMaps:nWe could go for a CeVo maplist kinda deal or a maplist we put together ourselfs. Perhaps bring some old maps like classic hill back into a league.nnOptionial is to chose for the newly developed maps. Some new objective maps have been released or are out there. A question to release it never hurts.nnServers:nThe clans working together on this league could provide their scrim servers as match servers for the leagues. Enforce perhaps even more safety with the help of plugins (D-O's exploit block) and other anti-exploit plugins there are available. Since we provide two timezones we can also provide servers from both these timezones. So pings will be acceptable for both teams.nnAdmins:nClans who cooperate can send out admins who are capable and willing. You need admins for demo review, score process, management. Getting several clans involved provides oppertunity for contact between admins and clans.nnMatches:nMatches are held between the two teams of the same timezone area. Say 20 mins per half, team switch on half-time. Home Team has the right to speak their choice for server.nnSo whats different from CeVo:nPeople who active in GotFrag I do not wish to insult by the following comment but they are nothing more then trashtalkers with a few exceptions. And thats what attracts CeVo and a bit also found in TPG. nnThis is not what we aim for, we aim for pubbers, people who enjoy a good battle and play with either strangers or their friends. See it as another dimension to pubbing.nnOffer support, something as providing resources (old CAL attributes) or a map download is not found in CeVo for example or limited on TPG. This makes the boundry to join as player or team a lot lower then above mentioned Leagues.nnOk, this is like the first thing that shoots into my mind. If you don't like it I would waste my time continueing. If you have questions just ask, I'm also open to suggestions if you (or others) have a different point of view on this.nnPromotional:nIf you cooperate with the clans in public dod 1.3 you also have their members to make this active. If I post it up my community I think I can bring in quite some teams. nnThe Steam forums for dod 1.3, not active but still has a small active member base.nnPerhaps do some promotional work on dodplugins.net.
