I just noticed that some of the new plugins arent using that as the author...are we not requiring that anymore? Just wondering.

Rgr...it used to be on the old website that it was required...but I couldnt find it on this website. Thats why I was asking. I still think it should be, as it lets people know we are here.

I am kind of fond of "tagging" my own work...n nbut I also understand the point you are trying to make...n nand maybe the compromise could be thus...nallow coders to fill in the normal info as usual...n n
n#define PLUGIN "DoD Some Plugin"n#define VERSION "76.0"n#define AUTHOR "=|[76AD]|= TatsuSaisei"npublic plugin_init() n{n register_plugin(PLUGIN, VERSION, AUTHOR);n//yadda yaddan}nn nbut then have all developers add in this line of code to all plugins released here...n n n#define PLUGIN "DoD Some Plugin"n#define VERSION "76.0"n#define AUTHOR "=|[76AD]|= TatsuSaisei"n#define DEVS "AMXX DoD Development Team"n npublic plugin_init() n{n register_plugin(PLUGIN, VERSION, AUTHOR);n n register_cvar(PLUGIN, DEVS, FCVAR_SERVER|FCVAR_SPONLY);n n//yadda yaddan}nn nthis would then make ALL the plugins available (that contains the new code) listable and searchable on game-monitor.comn nhttp://game-monitor.com/search.php?rulename=AMXX%20DoD%20Development%20Teamn nI have added the 2 lines of code to my medic plugin to show the example... this will allow the author to continue to claim ownership of the plugin while still giving "props" to the community he/she belongs to...n n nThe only thing that would require "discussion" is the OFFICIAL designation for DEVS (#define DEVS "AMXX DoD Development Team")n nnFull working example of my own personal snippet ~~> http://game-monitor.com/search.php?rulename=DoD%20Medic%20Classn

I like flapsu's idea.rnrnPlus, client's can't view a servers amx_plugins anyway..it's just the server admins..and they came here to get it anyway..

I think that the register CVAR is the best offset. However it has been a long standing agreement that I guess never got passed along that if you are distributing your plugins here, and are a member here, then you should make it a DoD Plugins Plugin...if you look at all the plugins that are made by Amxmodx Developers you will see that they do not claim credit for it...after all this forum as well as Amxmodx is for Open Source Development. That means that anyone can use your plugins and modify your code to suit them. It is a help each other type of situation. Having said that, I use to claim them as my own, but I decided to just put into the code who the developer is...as well due to the nature of the DoD Plugins Suporter plugin, it looks for that specific tag to id that as a DoD Plugins Plugin. So I would rather have the cvar say your name and the DoD Plugins Community as the developers. This is up to the group of developers as a whole...so if someone has the time to throw up a Vote, lets see what ppl want.nnCheers!

I am not agaisnt either to be honest... and with the register_cvar option, those of us who want to continue to tag our work can while still properly giving credit to the DoD Community... n nmy only concern is to choose the "title" that is acceptable to all.. and the show support plugin shows 2 different possible choices...

I personally don't care either way, when I made my first mod, it was way back on the other forum. I was gone for probably 6 months to a year after that with other work I had, now that I am back - I may have forgotten a few of those rules.rnrnAs for changing the Author name, I don't care either way, I can always put like this for example:rnrn
rn/* DoD Weapons Mod 2.0rnCreated by TooLzrnThanks to DoDPlugins.netrn*/rnrnrnWhich is typically what I do in my plugins anyway, but if that is something we should change anyhow, thats perfectly fine with me. It's not an ego trip for me to have my name on my plugins, its just because I did create them, and I always put thanks to the dod plugins community because without you guys, none of my plugins would have ever been made.rnrnCyaThreads: 103

ive always put "AMXX DoD Team" since i first became a dev many moons ago :D ...and i still do for every dod plugin i make nnwell almost every dod plugin.. at least every plugin i release here.. there might be a few on my website that i did put my name in for..nnn.... it all really doesnt matter to me thonnntho i do think we should at least do some sort of universal tagging for them all.. whether it be thru author or something else..

Yes we need to figure a way out...I know that I like to have my name on a plugin as well...but as I created this place for people who love dod as much as I do I always try to put the DoD Plugins Community as the author of the plugin. Just me...lets figure out which way is best.nnCheers!

my vote stands with ...n n
nregister_cvar(PLUGIN, "Chosen Title"), FCVAR_SERVER|FCVAR_SPONLY);nn nOnce the chosen title is established then we simply just paste this little bad boy in before a release (quick snippet in studio)n nThe reason I stand behind this method is the ability to search these "cvars" with game-monitor ... therefore an ability to "publicly" display this information is available... and like Wilson said, any other way and the only people who would ever know or see anything is the actual server operators...Threads: 11

hmm, maybe something like rnrn
AUTHOR = "TooLz & AMXX DoD Community"rnrnSomething like that may work.. dunno, just throwing things out there I guess, lol.rnrnCyaThreads: 54

Well, after thinking more about it... AUTHOR should contain the "AMXX DoD Community" title, to continue to support the Support DoDplugin.net Plugin (it looks at plugin authors)n nso I revised my practice of tracking and am slowly changing over to this method...n n
n#define PLUGIN "DoD Some New Plugin"n#define VERSION "###"n#define DEVS "=|[76AD]|= TatsuSaisei"n#define AUTHOR "AMXX DoD Community"n npublic plugin_init() n{n register_plugin(PLUGIN, VERSION, AUTHOR)n n n //-----------------------------------------------------------n new plugin_info[128],pfilename[32],pname[32],pversion[16],pauthor[32],pstatus[16];n get_plugin(-1,pfilename,31,pname,31,pversion,15,pauthor,31,pstatus,15);n strcat ( plugin_info, "Version: ", 127) ;n strcat ( plugin_info, VERSION, 127) ;n strcat ( plugin_info, " by: ", 127) ;n strcat ( plugin_info, DEVS, 127) ;n register_cvar(pfilename, plugin_info, FCVAR_SERVER|FCVAR_SPONLY);n register_cvar(PLUGIN, AUTHOR, FCVAR_SERVER|FCVAR_SPONLY);n //-----------------------------------------------------------n n //other code here...n}n n nn n nI will have to reboot my server once I change all my plugins over...n nUntil told otherwise I will start using "AMXX DoD Community"n nalthough I would like the word developers to be includedThreads: 75

We could put the AMXX DoD Community Developer as the tag, but the end probably wont show up...nnDuno...again this is up to the Developer Community.nnCheers!

Well then I'd say we should put up a vote for it, being as I have no idea what to put, I'll leave that up to some else, but an example of what I was considering was doing votes as "Code of Sample 1", "Code of Sample 2", then in the post put rnrnSample 1:rn
whatever this sample is to bernrnI am intent doing whatever it is that needs done as far as author goes, I tried awhile ago to rename the subject of the Weapons Mod 2.0 to DoD Weapons Mod 2.0 but it won't change, lol.rnrnCya
