anyone check this out yet? (tho the *public* release isnt till may 5th and is good till june 2010)nnIve been running the x64 version for a day or so now...nnso far it seems pretty decent to me... havent really done much with it yet tho.. ran into a few issues, my win explorer replacement (directory opus) was causing some issues when it was set to replace explorer on its own, and then i also had some trouble getting all the nforce chipset drivers to install but solved that by running the setup in vista sp2 compatibility mode...nnand after a nights worth of tweaking and messing about with settings and such, its pretty smooth and responsive (not to mention visually everything looks way better) and im tempted to start using this more often then XP once i finish getting things setup :)nnni have a feeling this is gonna be a decent OS compared to vista, tho i honestly never had any issues with vista myself but i only used it once and a while to play dx10 games...

ive seen and read alot about Windows 7. And i really think its gonna be good OS. I havent even started using vista my self, ill stick to XP about a year more atleast. But maybe i should try that windows 7 rc. Can you run all the old stuff like Jeds HL MDL viewer and shit on 7 ?. There is some of the old stuff that didnt work right on vista.

There are alot of Apps that DON'T work. Be careful. Things like adobe, flash, and a few others I couldn't get to install, said they were bad apps. So I reinstalled Vista on my gaming machine. Once either the apps get updated, or Win7 does is when I will go over to it.rnrnCheers!

hmm idk if its me or what lol..nnbut dod isnt running that well for me, could be drivers.. could be some other settings.. idk..nnbut in XP i was 100fps constant.. no matter what it never dropped down at all. But now its jumping around from like 80-100 if theres nothing going on, and as soon as theres some action and other players on my screen it drops.. seen it as low as 20-30fps.. even happens if i run at the lowest resolution availablenndoesnt make much sense, as other newer games, including dx10 ones, run very very well even when maxed out..nnand steam/hl.exe is being a pain in the butt when trying to run in a compat mode..

ok an update on this issue...nnnmight have got it working better now.. setting the hl.exe priority to above normal is giving me a pretty constant 99 fps :) tho i am getting some lag-type spikes here and there but idk if thats from changing the priority or just something else going on...nn*edit* ok the lag went away.. mighta just been the torrents i had going or something with my net...
