The shotgun plugin Wilson posted has been fixed, from memory both Dr. G as Diamond-Optic have them working now. I wouldn't expect any public launch of the plugin any time soon.nnAsk yourself this question, if you put a shitload of time into a plugin to get it working. Nobody has it but you, wouldn't you keep it to yourself to keep your server unique for others and take the profit of your hard labour?nnDon't get me wrong, I would like the plugin as well but I can also understand why it's not released to public. Some plugins you keep to yourself to make your server stand out above others.

Considering they all benefited from other coders at one time or another, not sharing is not very honorable as they themselves had Wilson's plug-in to help them.rnYou can't build or keep a "community" going if members are not willing to share.

Can you seriously say that you or Dr. G created the plugin all by yourself?rnrnMy post was in response to Tank below where he wrote about how much time you put into the Shotgun Plugin as if Wilson's work was negligible. And I am not putting down what you did either. rnBut would any of the programmer's here have gotten as far as they have without the sharing and the helping? I know I keep learning more because of the examples provided and the specific details of how to change the code. But I know I am not learned enough to fix the shotgun plugin. And as I told your buddy Coltron, I have a family and spending time on a plugin that someone has already fixed, doesn't rank high in my priorities.rnrnAlso, Tank speaks about making your server unique. What does that really mean with everyone running different plugins which make each server unique anyway. People will play on servers because of the other people who play there. You might attract a few players who are curious about your plugins, but if you can't provide an enjoyable environment, it won't matter what plugins anyone runs on their server.rnrnAnd I went to your server to check out what the shotgun experience brouha was all about as if shotguns weren't available in other games. But I found no shotgun plugin running. rnrnD-O, apparently my use of the word "honorable" struck a nerve with you guys. I couldn't think of a word at the time. But I only meant that not sharing plugins only seems to go against the spirit of this DOD Plugins community. That's my opinion and I realize that not everyone believes this way.rnAnd hopefully you're not offended by my comments, but maybe my comments may be food for thought; not just for you and Dr. G, but everyone.rnrn

I think there is a certain amount of logic in all this. I make maps, and I suppose maybe I shouldn't upload them to places like Gamesbanana anymore for the same reason. But, unlike with plugins, if I decide to keep them to my server, the player downloads and can spread it to other servers easily. Where's my protection for all my hard work? Why do map makers have to lose out on this bit of "unique environment" for our server and players?rnrnMaybe the answer is simply not to make maps anymore.rnrnYup, the DOD community. It's a wonder this game isn't totally dead yet.

Why is it expected that every last bit of code should be shared ?rnrnI would like to thank Diamond and Dr.G for all of the code that they have shared.rnIf people want the shotgun plugin so badly then they probably need to put the effort in and learn to code, not moan that some people will not hand it to them on a plate.rnrnrant over :)rnrnall have a nice weekend

People will play on servers because of the other people who play there. That is the truth!, and amazingly some servers still just run the stock dod maps. It's all about the peeps.

Also, Tank speaks about making your server unique. What does that really mean with everyone running different plugins which make each server unique anyway.nnIt means when you rewrote the shotgun plugin (it's not a matter of just fixing the way respawn is handled but an entire rewrite) you keep it to yourself.
