Ok, I need some help with this mod. I played it earlier and I kinda took a shine to it so I thought I would see how it went over on my server. I just can't get the damn thing to work. Granted it's 5am and my brain is goo right now but I can't figure it out nonetheless. I'm reading the error message in HLSW:rnrn04:44:25 L 01/14/2007 - 04:44:26: [AMXX] Plugin "warcraft3FT.amxx" failed to load: Module/Library Class "dbi" required for plugin. Check modules.ini.rnrnThat's the error I am getting and I have no idea what it means. Can anyone help?

Need to setup a sql I thinkn nyes, you need a sql database, and you need to enable the dbi module (DataBase Interface)

Is that database on the website of your own? Or does the server have a database? Very stupid question...Sorry I honestly don't know :P

Ok, I need an SQL and a DBI. That's awesome. Now, what the hell are those? I know that my modules.ini has an entry for SQL but I haven't the foggiest idea how to set one up nor do I know what a DBI is and how to set that up. Any help Tatsu?

Any help Tatsu?n nlol, databases are one of the few things I know little about... what I do know is very basic at best.n nAn SQL is more a language than a database, my mistake for using the term improperly, but nonetheless some web hosts provide some sort of number of databases, generally mySQL types. The only databases I ever "played" around with deal with psychostats and phpbb2, and what I do know is specific to the changes I made at the time.n nI have been meaning to learn more about databases and plugin integration, but alas it is a subject I have not even touched yet... I just know whats needed, not much more then that.. at best I can only recommend what I would do, search the amxmodx for your answers, or hope someone else can help...

Welcome to the db world of steep learning curves. One of the things you need to find out about that mod is why it needs the database. Does it require you to set up a database? Will it set it up automatically for you? If it requires a database then you will need to provide it with a username and password. I know there is more than one WC3 plugin out there, maybe you should try to find one that doesn't require a database. You might be forced to, horror of horrors, use the CS WC3 mod, but if the results are the same hopefully the base mod won't matter.nnedit: In an effort to be more helpful I actually went and looked at the WC3FT mod, which I am assuming is the one you are trying to get working. Apparently it works with CS, DOD, or CZ. There is another version I saw in the AMXX plugins list, but it probably isn't one you are interested in, and I don't know if it also requires a database.nnAnyway, after taking a quick look at the mod I can tell you either need to set up a MySQL server, if you are hosting yourself, or you need access to one. I don't know if other brands of SQL databases are supported. Once you've set up a MySQL server, or you have access to one, you need to configure the following in your war3ft.cfg file:nn
FT_sql_host "127.0.0.1" // Host NamenFT_sql_user "root" // User NamenFT_sql_pass "" // PasswordnFT_sql_db "" // Database NamennAs I said above, you need to set up a user with or without a password, and you need to create a database. Apparently it does everything else for you. If the SQL server is on the same machine, then you don't need to change the "FT_sql_host", but if the SQL server is being hosted on another machine you will need to provide an ip for that machine, either an internal lan ip, if the server is on the same lan, or an external wan ip.nnIf you are hosting yourself, setting up a MySQL server isn't all that complicated. Here is an example of what you need to do if you are setting up on Debian GNU/Linux. If you are setting up on Windows it is just a matter of downloading and running the install package, and then running through the setup utility. If you have access to a web page with PHP, I would highly recommend phpMyAdmin, it makes working with MySQL much simpler, and if your host provides MySQL hosting, they will probably have that set up already. But if you are hosting your own MySQL server then there are admin apps available that make working with MySQL a bit easier.nnIf you are worried about a MySQL server sucking up your system resources, if all you are doing is running the database for this mod, it should take minimal resources and any server capable of running hlds with AMXX and that mod, shouldn't have any problem running the MySQL server as well.Threads: 1

roflmao Thanks man. I almost had a goddamn aneurysm reading that just trying to understand it, but it made a little more sense. In any case, I took the easy way out and got my server provider (gameservers.com) to install the mod for me. It took a bit of cajoling and serveral bombing threats but eventually they did it. Now if I can just figure out why it's causing my server to reset....sigh...

I almost had a goddamn aneurysm reading that just trying to understand itnTrust me I understand. In the past four years I've learned how to set up Half-Life servers with mods, IIS and Apache, Debian GNU/Linux, PHP, MySQL, and learned a fair bit of html in the process. Looks simple when you put it in one sentence, but that was four years of sticking a fork in my brain and stirring... ;)nnedit: Oh ya, forgot about phpBB with mods, and Nuke and Post Nuke...
