Hey,rnrnI was wondering if anyone still plays Day of Defeat. I'm old school and still play it throughout the week. I've even gotten back into mapping recently and would love to meet some fellow mappers to give and share tips and and give some advice, as well as make some friends up here so we can keep it alive. I do have a server and a few plugins, nothing too crazy in it, but yea, if you're game and wanna experience new maps for Day of Defeat from Rats style, multiple team objective based maps and even replicas of popular cities and countries, post here or get at me via PM. I don't know much about plugins but I will be browsing the forums here over the next few days downloading and testing some that I like. Or if any of you would like to test your maps, mods or plugins on my server I'd be happy to let you.rnrnThanks and hope you all are having a fantastic weekend, aiiiiiight!

I love dod, what's your server, I play on BAW, an adult server with a great crowd. I don't know the first thing about mapping but would love to learn.

Hey, we have started a mapping community. There are a few mappers left out there. Just got our site back online. We are holding up here: nhttp://bio-community.com/mapping/news.phpnnI mostly play on Dexworld which is a heavy custom server along with the basics.nnAlso I have a post in the steam forums that I maintain with links to mapping sites. I am currently working on downloading all the useful information from them, as these pages are slowly going away.nhttp://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=760694

Primarily to SSomerlot:rnrnI've made a number of maps myself. I've submitted a few of the nearly 35 or 36 that I've created to Gamesbanana.rnrnRegrettably, there is still much I need to learn. My issue, as you've pointed out, is that a great many sites that used to have tutorials for HL1 mods have disappeared, and many of the sites that have tutorials are now tailored to Source mapping/games. Though I know there are some things that are facets of mapping that are pertinent to both versions (HL1 and Source), it is a bit confusing to make a distinction as to which facets are Source only unless maybe you've done mapping for both. As a result, I personally have refrained from further searching for tutorials on mapping to improve my capabilities.rnrnHopefully the site(s) that you are putting together will help clarify things so that I can provide better maps.rnrnThanx for your efforts.

Yeah, I have had to learn/re-learn a lot of things myself since a lot of sources are gone. I am currently working on download data from all these current sources that are still available and posting/citing the information the Game Mappers page so the data isn't lost. Hopefully I will have this posted up in a couple weeks. I have example maps that I have made as well as prefabs and models.

If ANYONE has map related tutorials links, be they dead or not lets have em. I can use the waybackmachine to get the data and then post it here.rnrnPlease either give me links, or give me actual data I can post up. Same goes for maps. You got em give em up and we will get em posted.rnrnAlso having said that if there are ppl who are interested in being moderators for the site in the Mapping area or bots area or any area here let me know via PM, in the PM please give me some background info on your community work for the given area. Just to make it a bit easier to choose.rnrnThanks All!

Hi noddy, rnrnThanks bud. I enjoy your new avalanche map named something different but forgot :( I found its contents and rmf on gamebanana. May I have the pleasure of using your work and creating an attack/defend map giving credit?

Actually m8 it was Livewire that did the map and I tried to help with testing and suggestions. I would think that Livewire would be happy for you to create an attack/defend map but please credit him, I know that a lot of hhours were spent on this.
